A message to Lagos Okada riders - Ismail Adefolaju

The recent protest by commercial motorcycle operators, popularly called Okada in Lagos, is highly uncalled for.During the protest, the operators destroyed a number of property, including the state’s BRT buses.At the moment, it is not known the extent of the destruction caused by the protesters, but it will definitely run into hundreds of millions of naira. However, when one looks at it, the law banning these people from the expressways is a good one.

It is even dangerous for motorcycles to be plying such busy expressways. It should surprise no one that some Okada operators even ply the Third Mainland Bridge.While the protesters should not see the government as wicked, they should know the chief executive of the state, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola(SAN), knows what he is doing, and he has the best interest of the people at heart.


When one visits different medical facilities in the state, one will notice the huge damage Okada is doing to people.Most of these Okada riders don’t actually know how to ride the bike properly. They just ventured into the business due to lack of jobs. As a result of this, a lot of unsuspecting passengers have been sent to their early graves as a result of accidents, while others have been incapacitated for life.

Although the case is still in court, it is expected that justice will be done.A government that does not care about its citizenry will be the one that would not be bothered about the havoc Okada is wrecking on the society.

We must also not forget that many are now using Okada for robbery operations.However, I want to call on the Okada operators to exercise caution and stop destroying public property while making their grievances known.

Photo: 70year Old Man Beheaded In Akwa Ibom State

The headless body of a 70 year old man identified as Udo Jimmy (AKA Ete- Isang) has been discovered in a small village called Ikot Odion in Eket Local Government area of Akwa Ibom State.
Ete-Isang, as he was fondly called left his house in the evening of Monday to scout for straws to feed his goat, but did not return back even after night-fall. Worried by this strange development,his children quickly reported the matter to the newly elected Village Head who immediately summoned an emergency town hall meeting of all the villagers to discuss the matter. A search party was immediately dispatched to comb the bushes in the direction where he was said to have been seen earlier in the day. 

His lifeless body was found just less than half a mile from his backyard along the road leading to a nearby stream called Odu Iyak.The Divisional Police office of Eket, Mr Idowu Owohunwa was intimated and immediately visited the scene alongside some of his men for proper investigation. No arrest was, however, made as no strong suspect was identified by the villagers during the course of police preliminary investigation. But a young lady in her early thirties simply known as Edikan later came forward and said she saw a strange young man along the road of the bush stream while going to fetch water to cook food for her children. She said she met a young man who easily got angry with her and questioned why she  nwas staring at him so intently, further threatening to beat her if she continued staring at him. She finished by indicating that she did not know him but could recognize him if she saw him again.

A community leader, Mr Akpe Isang, while reacting to the incident said he believed that it was the hash way which poverty has significantly ravaged the state that has. compelled young men to resort to ritual killings by beheading people to make quick money. But in contrast to this, a second school of thought blamed the killing of this septuagenarian on witchcraft. One of the community spokespersons who spoke on account of anonymity said Mr Jimmy returned from Calabar three years ago after the death of his eldest son and settled at home. Witchcraft was widely believed to be the cause of his son’s death. Killings like this has been going on for some time now in different parts of Akwa Ibom State which may not have any connection with politics as they mostly involved people from the local community. In Oron area, for instance, about seven people were beheaded just last month alone in different villages. However, what may be the cause of this very death, still remains a mystery.
But it will be recalled that in 2001, more than eleven people including children believed to be witches and wizards were tortured and killed in this village alone and buried in an unknown mass grave

K-Solo’s denies paternity of wife’s baby; says he is back to his true love”!

The wife of popular music producer, Solomon Oyeniyi otherwise known as K-Solo, Kikelomo, was delivered of a baby boy yesterday morning. Kike, who has reportedly been in the news for some time now due to an alleged assault on her by her husband, put to bed at about 5am on Friday, October 26, 2012.

She was delivered of the baby at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos. Sources confirmed to us that she is in good condition with the baby.

Meanwhile, K-Solo has reportedly denied the paternity of the child due to some reasons sources close to him referred to as an earlier controversial text message from Kike on the paternity of the baby.
The text message was exclusively made available to us  purportedly written by Kike on May 1, 2012, claiming K-Solo should never think he is the father of the child.According to what the source revealed to us, he (the source), has access to K-Solo’s phone number, which serves as his business number posted online on the singer’s Facebook page.

The unedited purported message allegedly sent to K-Solo by Kike reads,

“Sorry we neva ad any baby together. Moreover, am sure Bimbo shud b able to giv u d one she was unable to giv u for 7yrs. And less i forget, ur eyes and dat of ur family wud not behold nor carry my child cuz u already denied d pregnancy. Ds pregnancy does not know Oyeniyi family and can neva be an Oyeniyi member. God forbid ! So go bak and tell ur people. If u know wat is gud for u, stay off me, my baby and my family. I regret knowin u and ur family and i cause d day i met u. Good riddance to bad rubbish.”

The source later told us that base on the above SMS, K-Solo is in doubt of the child’s paternity. The source even disclosed to us that K-Solo does not know where the child was born because Kike has reportedly packed out of her matrimonial home and threw away baby things her husband bought.

Months back i meet kike and within 3months,i left Bimbo my wife who we had done Family introduction,i really cant tell what came over me and i became an item with kike and dumped bimbo,when i realised my mistakes and wanted to move on kike went to the press using all kind of lies calling me a wife beater and sending a makeup picture to the press,During the process she realised she was pregnant and claimed it was my baby i accepted it and took care of her but kike dispeared and it was only throught sms i got to know she has had the baby and i am seeing seeing the pictures on the internet just like you.
i am shocked with kike but all things happen for good,i have moved on for good and i am back in the Arms of my friend and lover Bimbo who kike came to break us,i will not be talking to the press as i want to concertrate on my life ,career and bimbo.
