A forty eight year-old man, Mr. Olapade Omotoso has been ordered to be remanded in prison custody till August 8, by a Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly raping an housewife, Mrs. Feyisayo Olugunki to death in an hotel in Ikere-Ekiti.
The Police Prosecuting officer, Corporal Ebenezer Ewuola told the court that Omotoso allegedly committed the offence on June 24 at 8.20pm.
Ewuola said Omotoso allegedly slept with Mrs.Ologunki, a 50 year-old woman, at Samphe Guest House, Araromi Street, Ikere-Ekiti.
The police prosecutor disclosed that the deceased reportedly began to gasp and soon died before help could get to her.
Ewuola alleged that Omotoso caused Mrs Ologunki’s death and that the woman was staying with her husband until the time of the incident.
He said the man thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 77, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 1990.
Presiding over the matter, the Chief Magistrate C.O. Adegoke ordered omotoso to be put in prison custody until adjournment date.
How did he get her to the hotel room? Was she living in the hotel with her husband when this happened? Too many questions. Any answers?
