Ace actor and politician, Richard Mofe Damijo popularly known as RMD is a year older today, Friday, July 6, 2012. The veteran actor is one of the most successful Nollywood actors in the make-believe profession in Nigeria.
Now actively a Commissioner in Delta State in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, his love for acting has still not faded. The Warri, Delta State born actor is known for top TV soaps like Checkmates, Ripples and many others.
He featured in some of the most memorable early Nollywood movies, such as Violated, Keeping Faith, Diamond Ring, and Out of bounds. To the disappointment of many of his fans, he left acting for politics. Today, he is the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State (Nigeria). However, he will be making a return to movies, as he will featured in a film adaptation of a novel by Sefi Atta, which is being produced by Ego Boyo.
