Read The Unaji Family Statement About Their Late Brother Adams Unaji, Of Occupy Nigeria

Adams, his wife and daughter.
This is a statement from the Unaji to all concerning their son Adams Unaji since they have been in mourning for the great loss. Today marks his 1st month anniversary, Adams passed away on the 3rd of July, 2013.

First and foremost, we the Unaji family will like to apologize to the civil societies, Nigerians and the entire world for not issuing any statement on the demise of Our Son, Adams Kennedy Unaji before now. As you all are well aware, it was a painful loss of a promising Youngman and to say we were devastated would be an understatement; the words to express our feelings is that “the whole experience has been leveling”, which led to an impasse and this late statement to debunk some misrepresentation et al.

Mr. Adams Kennedy Unaji was born on 31st August 1972 in Zaria, Kaduna state to Mr. Patrick Abba Unaji of blessed memory and Mrs. Theresa Onyowo Unaji (Nee Akpa), of Okpale-Ota in Benue state. Prior to his relocation to the United States of America, he had
impacted lives and was well known in the circle of civil society groups and activists in and across the globe; these include the Civil Liberty Organization (CLO), Moshood Abiola Vanguard for Democracy (MAVD), Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND), COPED, Mike Fleshman, etc. While in the United States, aside working with Chase Bank of
Arlington, he was a campaign manager for the Presidential Election that installed the First Black President in the United States of
America, which earned him an article with his picture in the papers.

On his return to Nigeria, he continued in his strive for Equity,Social Justice and Service to Humanity by becoming the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Coordinator of the United Action for Democracy(UAD), organized youths to protest against the fuel price hike byPresident Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, tagged “Occupy Nigeria” in January 2012, Director of Programs at the National Youth Council for Nigeria and a strong voice against the corruption in government, societal ills and the anti-people policies of the government till his departure.

Finally, we will love to do what Adams would have done if alive today, knowing he would never be a party to any form of injustice, either in the nation or the family; that at his death he was legally married to Dannielle Flowers Unaji (Nee Bozeman), not Valentina Ibirogba (hisex-wife) and has Two (2) children not One (1) to correct the misinformation in most, if not all of the posts circulated hitherto.

Adams Kennedy Unaji died on Wednesday 3rd July 2013 and has since been buried in his hometown Okpale-Ota, in Edumoga District of Okpokwu Local Government Area, Benue state, Nigeria. He is survived by wife (Dannielle F. Unaji), son (AbbaModupe Unaji), daughter (Imani AnyalewaUnaji), mother, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins and nephews. The Unajis, Idomaland, Middle Belt, Nigeria and the world will miss
this great Icon.
Adieu Adams!!!

We send our appreciation to all those who called, sent sms, emails and visited to express their condolence and who made the burial a success. Our prayer for you is that God be with you and continue to bless you. Amen!
