Nelson Mandela was released from hospital today after undergoing surgery for a stomach condition.
Across South African prayers were said for the 93-year-old former president today as fears for his health grew.
Officials have insisted the surgery for a long-standing abdominal complaint was planned - and did not reveal there was anything seriously wrong.
