For decades her full glossy pout has been her most alluring asset.But French beauty Emmanuelle Béart has now confessed it is surgically enhanced.The acclaimed actress is now campaigning to raise awareness about the problems of having cosmetic procedures - after hers went wrong.
‘I had my mouth done when I was 27, if I had liked my mouth I wouldn’t have had it re-done.
‘If a man or woman has something redone it is because he or she can no longer live with that part of their body, it is no longer bearable.
‘Either they get help and find the strength to fight [the need to have plastic surgery] or they proceed with the act.’
Her comments on the dangers of plastic surgery come in the wake of the PIP implant scandal. Thousands of women, including many in Britain, have been left fearing for their lives after it was found the company’s implants were filled with cheaper industrial-grade silicon rather than the medical-grade silicon.
Last December, health officials in Paris recommended that all the implants should be surgically removed.
British health secretary Andrew Lansley has also ordered a review of the possible dangers, urging concerned women to visit their GPs.
