Jonathan, Fashola visit Dana Aircraft crash site

President Goodluck Jonathan, on Monday, visited the site of the ill-fated Dana airplane that crashed in Lagos, killing all 153 people on board.
The president, after seeing the extent of the disaster, vowed to put an end to plane crashes in the country. “We have been working very hard to improve the aviation in this country.
This particular incident is a major setback for us… By the end of the day, I will make sure that this will not repeat itself in the country,” he said.
President Jonathan arrived at the site of the crash alongside with Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos; the Police AIG, Mohammed Abubabar; Minister of Transport, Idris Umar and other dignitaries.
Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA boss, said more than 70 corpses have been retrieved from the crashed site and deposited at LASUTH mortuary.
Meanwhile, LASEMA also said that surviving residents of the affected buildings would be evacuated to Agbowa Relief camp. The team leader, Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Immanuel Diala, has taken possession of the Black box, saying "investigation has just begun."
