In a society where orphans and abandoned children face rough times and no one seem to want to accommodate them, let alone recognise and celebrate them, there is however light at the end of the tunnel for these individuals as Kittens Promotions in conjunction with Ozone 03 Media and other organisations are planning a big concert for them tagged ‘Smitten’ on Sunday 18th November, 2012 from 4pm to 10pm at the Fountain Hall (Surulere Shopping Plaza) opposite Havana Hospital, Akerele in Surulere, Lagos.
Kittens Promotions is managed by Damilola Adegbuyi, a dynamic young lady, a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, a mother, and the first of five children. Kittens Promotions has in conjunction with Ozone O3 Media organized shows to create awareness on vital issues such as AIDS awareness campaign and Save a Child Initiative which gave birth to the proposed concert
The 2-in-1 event will kick off with a visit to an orphanage and thereafter there would be a concert , many stars are billed to perform at the much talked about concert, the likes of Channel O presenter Denrele Edun, King of the Zanga Crooner, Durella, Rayce, Control Master, W4, Tipsy, AY.com, Jboy, Mudina. It promises to be fun for the children in question and memorable for them.
As part of activities designed for the event, Kittens promotion will visit some of the orphanage homes and present gift items to the orphanages. The kids with talent in entertainment will be put on scholarship to further harness their skills. The real deal is that the children on that day will be more than fed as their lives will never remain the same. They will also be incorporated into the society that never seemed to care for them as they will have the chance to meet with some of the best artist on displace in the country. The concert will also provide a platform for them to be heard as some of them will light the stage. The concert will also provide for networking in a bit to explore the vast opportunity and blessing in caring for God’s precious.
The convener of the event through the PR Agency attached to the concert, Hoye 247 Media Limited talks about the charitable initiative ‘’Smitten means to love or cherish, I love helping and knowing that some people are smiling just because I helped them the little way I can. I really do enjoy helping the needy and the helpless. We intend going to an orphanage with gifts and other items. We would spend quality time with the children, play, dance, act and sing with them. Everything would be filmed and shown on the projector screen on the day of the concert after which the dancers would open the floor for the youth concert’’.
Some organisations have thrown their weight behind the concert, the likes of Etisalat, Soundcity, City People, Ozone 03 Media, Campus TV, Super Maritime, KOC, Culture, Hoye234 Media Limited and others.
