The talent show put up by the Aboderin family in honor of their late brother Jaiye Aboderin- Jay’s Search will kick off in a matter of days!
Jay Search is a bi-annual music talent search dedicated to the memory of late Jaiye Aboderin (1971-2004), who died December 3rd 2004 after he slumped during a casual game of basketball with friends.
Jay Search, Online auditions ended on Monday November 14, 2011, and we are finally set for the live auditions. We have a total of Twenty (20) finalists for this phase”. The grand finale will take place on December 16, 2011, at the grand ball room of the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lekki and six (6) finalists will slug it out for a cash prize of N250, 000, a Kopykats Entertainment recording deal for one single, one music video, a makeover/photo shoot, airplay, promotions and publicity, during an exciting evening of music, comedy, dinner and dance. N100, 000 cash goes to the 1st runner-up while the 2nd runner-up gets N75, 000 cash. The remaining 3 finalists will also get consolation cash prizes of N50, 000 each.
“Winners will be selected by the guests whose votes would make up 40%, while our judges made up of individuals of reputable standing in today’s music industry, would make up 60%” Wunmi Obe says.
