Chelsea have appointed Roberto Di Matteo as their permanent manager and first-team coach on a two-year deal.
The Italian's representatives spent the weekend in talks with club officials and has been assured he is owner Roman Abramovich's first-choice. Di Matteo, 41, was appointed interim coach following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas in March.
Losing just three out of 21 matches, he led Chelsea to Champions League glory in Munich and also lifted the FA Cup.
Several of his senior players voiced their support for him to be given the role.
